Gaviscon Double Action 150ml is a fast-acting liquid suspension designed to provide long-lasting relief from heartburn, indigestion, and acid reflux. The unique "double action" formula works in two ways:

Neutralizes Stomach Acid: It contains antacids, such as calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate, which quickly neutralize excess stomach acid, providing immediate relief from pain and discomfort.

Forms a Protective Barrier: A key component is sodium alginate, a natural substance derived from seaweed. When it comes into contact with stomach acid, it forms a protective "raft" or gel layer on top of the stomach contents. This physical barrier prevents stomach acid from flowing back up into the esophagus (acid reflux), providing lasting relief for up to four hours.
